Greetings! New to this forum, but not new to Warmoth. I bought my first Warmoth body & neck back in 2004 and am embarking on my 3rd complete Warmoth (also have 2 guitars that are half Warmoth). While I look forward to sharing those projects in future posts, here's the start of #5.

The neck arrived a couple days ago - one of the recent turtle inlay necks from the Showcase. Rosewood on roasted maple, standard thin, 10-16" radius, Graphtec nut, 6150 frets. I was originally going with an old Fender MIM neck I have, but I couldn't pass on these necks. Undecided if I'm going to shoot the headstock black or leave it.

Body and pickguard were ordered from Warmoth in early 2025. Between waffling on the finish (do I really want to cover up that grain with an opaque finish) and a busy 2025, finishing has yet to commence.

This project originally began with the realization that I had so many spare parts that I was a body short of a partsocaster. Then came the Johnny Winters. Then came the pickguard and body, then came the neck. C'est la vie.

All the parts are on hand and finish work will progress as temps in the garage allow.

Welcome aboard. Nice choices, I look forward to seeing the build progress.

I agree, keep the grain visible! I don't know what your options are, but I had good experiences with wudtone, they have transparent or semi-transparent finishes.
