Hello... I just joined and also my 1st time ordering from warmoth. Few weeks ago I decided to order a warmoth body after months of watching other guitars posted here and it gave me serious GAS! Can't hold it any longer and order a simple classic look strat body, nothing fancy or out of the norm. I was also trying to find out the build/finish quality of warmoth product so what better way then to get one and see it by yourself.

So after pulling the trigger and few weeks of wait time, the body finally arrived at my doorstep. After opening up the box, I was floored.... can't express in words what I was feeling at that time but its something like getting that one present you really really hope for. Seeing the body quality/finish, it made me decide to order a 1 piece maple neck from warmoth to mate with this body which will probably be finish few weeks time.

So here is the body. It was taken with my phone camera. It's a 1 piece alder with HSH rout, vintage trem and finished in 2 tone black-yellow burst.

Absolutely gorgeous! So classic, and the one-piece quality just adds to the beauty! :icon_thumright:

-Your gonna love it, but be warned, this is seriously addictive! Black-tar heroin has nothin' on kitting an instrument from Warmoth! I'm between projects right now and jones'n something fierce! I've got it bad, that's for sure!
:help:

Keep sharing pics and tell us how the build is going, -if I can't do one right now, the next best thing is to follow you making yours!

-Curious; what are the specifics on the neck ya got coming? -Back profile, frets, and what-not... -that's the stuff that fuels my GAS, so do tell!

That's tasty  :icon_thumright: ... and welcome aboard.

:redflag:  Hey Guys, don't be afraid to ask any Q's here.
Plenty of great help / advice / tips and tricks / humour from many talented people here.

Thank you and yeah I do find it addicting the moment I laid my eyes on the open box and out come out the fantastic looking body lol. I think it will only get worst when it is complete.

Well all the other parts are still in transit from around the globe i guess lol... Played and did minor setup for a few customer's/friend's guitars with common woods from most named brand like basswood, mahogany/maple, alder and noticed I keep going back to alder with maple neck combo for how it sounds. That's the combo that sounds good to me whether its SSS/HSH/SSH/HH so thats the main reason for the alder body and the neck wood choice.

I have ordered 4 type of pickguard for 4 pickup configuration (SSS, SSH, HSH and HH) so I can swap depending on what I feel like playing at that time of the month  :icon_thumright:. So far I have only decided on the SSS configuration which would be all rail type pickups from Dimarzio. The other 3 configuration is yet to be determine. All will be in parchment pickguard/knobs/switch.

As for the neck it's going to be a 1 piece maple vintage modern strat neck, Graphtech white TUSQ XL nut, 1" 11/16, 59 roundback with 6230 stainless fret (closest I can get to my favorite guitar neck/fret which is an Edwards LP98 LTS that I measured) in clear satin finish. Oh and 10"-16" compound radius just to try it out instead of the regular 12" I have on my Edwards. Just ordered the neck after I got the body so probably will be another 4-6 weeks I hope for it to arrive at my doorstep.

:sad1: Aww! -Why didn't I get stainless frets?

Tell me just how fabulous the SS frets are and how exactly dream-like the '59 roundback is so I will have no choice but to make it happen on one of my future builds!

Can't wait to see it come together!

Dunno. Always get stainless frets. They're a no-brainer, especially from Warmoth where it's only a $20 adder. They feel better, play better, last longer and don't affect your tone. They should be the standard, rather than an option.

Some of us just learn the hard way, I guess... -At least our new-comer/first-timer here was smart right "out of the Box".  :sign13:

Incidentally, the "gold" ones are just as nice, so they're a good choice if you're using gold hardware. I have them on several necks and like them as well as the stainless parts.

I thought it was standard to get stainless on custom order since its made to your own personal spec anyway and since I like low and small frets I wanted it to last as long as it can. I hate doing setup on a stainless frets if they are not on my guitar :icon_thumright: . Same goes to flyod type trem.

Need to wait few more weeks before I can start assemble everything together.

Argh.... the wait~~

Day-mun-- Go ahead and order a tasty neck with SS frets for your Axe.  Then you'll have an extra neck lying about, and well... I guess you'll have to begin looking for a body to go with the extra neck.  See where this is going?

That's gonna be a fine instrument!

Hopefully it will be. Gonna take my time assemble everything.

The 59 roundback back are really nice, its more I hope it to be. It's not fat and its not thin, it feel right between those. It's "relatively" the same as my Edwards but with the 10-16 radius and stainless vintage frets, it feels much more comfortable. It's my favorite neck so far.

I'm a happy camper!  :headbang:

The 59' is a great profile, it is actually spot on to my 07 SG special neck.
Great looking build, classic and clean.
