I'm not an insanely huge Kid Rock fan, but I do think that its cool that he picked Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore and the surrounding Munising, MI area to shoot the video for the new song he did, "Born Free."  This is no more than 40 or 50 miles or so away from where I live.

I dunno--to me, it just seems cool that I chased my little girl across the same beach no more than a month or two before this was shot.

Whoa, you're from the U.P.?  That's awesome! I'm in the Detroit area, but we go up and drive around the U.P. every summer.  There is so much beauty up there.

What a shame to see a place of childhood memories closed due to contamination.

Whenever I hear KR's sweet home alabama song I think it sounds more like "werewolves of London" than "Sweet Home Alabama"

AhhOooooooooooO

I actually was born and raised outside of Green Bay, WI. I moved up to Marquette to attend Northern Michigan University. While there, I met my wife, and when I graduated, we married and moved back to northeast Wisconsin. After the birth of our little girl, she really wanted to move back up to Marquette, where all of her family is. I moved back up last November, and have been living up here ever since.

I love the area--I live about twenty or so miles south of Marquette by the old air force base, and the drive north into town is nothing short of amazing, no matter what time of year it is. And yes, I can tolerate the cold and the snow really really well, which is good, because I think we were hit with about 6-8 inches of it since Wednesday night, with more on the way this week.

That's because it was a combination of both songs....

I live in the Keweenaw Peninsula. The Calumet area. We got about 15 inches in that last storm.
