So I came across quite a few great deals on some guitars that I just could not pass up. so I added 4 new guitars to the herd. Everyone needs a strat and tele in their collection so I couldnt pass these up. And I have always wanted a Rhoads V ever since I started playing and im glad to say that I have finally satisfied that particular GAS.

This is a 2005 MIM tele with Texas Special pups and fender locking tuners. Also a nice triple ply fancy pickguard. MINT and strung with 10s with a great set up and action.

This is a 1995 Tex Mex Strat. I bought it thinking it was just a regular MIM strat. After checking the serial number I found out that it is a Tex Mex which apparently have an upgraded set of pickups and are quite rare being that they only made them for a couple of years before they became the Jimmy Vaughn signature. the original color was vintage white but it has faded to a great cream/banana pudding color that I really dig. Plays great and sounds just like a strat should

I do not know exactly what Rhoads model this baby is but I got it for cheap enough that I didnt really care. its in great condition, plays wonderfully, and realllllllyyyyy screams. When I saw the Polka Dot finish I knew It was all over. surely a finish not for everyone but I really dig it!!

And now for the acoustic. My father located this beauty for me. It is a custom shop Martin D35. My second Martin but without a doubt the nicest acoustic i could ever own.

Ooh, Xmas came early for you!  :cool01:

FYI - Fender's Tex Mex series was replaced by the "California Series" which was mostly identical (I think just the body wood changed from poplar to alder, but can't remember). But, the California series had final assembly and just enough other work done right across the border in California to qualify for a "Made in USA" designation. At the time, I picked up a Tex Mex tele for like 30% off what it had previously been selling for. Real nice guitar.

Anyway, congrats, those are beautiful guitars! :eek:ccasion14:

cool stuff. good to know about the strat. everything that I read online said that the Tex Mex basically became the Jimmy Vaughn guitars. This particular one is a great player. I love it!

Nice scores!

I believe the Jackson is either a Jackson Pro or a JS Series.  I couldn't tell you which one, but given there's no binding on the neck, I'd say it's a JS Series.

any idea what the jackson would have gone for new?? what it might be worth? i was not thinking it was a very highend model. although it plays and sounds wonderful...to me at least. the neck is very similar to my Warmoth compound radius wizard neck with 6100 frets

It's a low-end model if it is indeed a JS Series.  They retailed brand new for between $250-$350, I believe.  This is probably a JS30.  The only thing that would have me question that are the pickups, because the pickups in mine have covers over them.  Mine is also a newer model, being a JS32.  The JS32s retail for between $250-$400.

If this turns out to be a Jackson Pro, it probably retailed for around $700-$1000, but the appearance of the neck and the cheap looking (no offense...) "Licensed by Floyd" hardware tells me otherwise.  My JS32 appears to have the same neck and hardware as your model.  The "Jackson" insignia also appears to have sort of a "3D" look to it, and looks like it's a sticker which was finished over from the factory.  This is the same insignia my JS32 has.

***EDIT***

Yes, the JS models do play nicely for cheaper guitars, and they certainly exceed their expectations.  The "Jackson" or "Made By Seymour Duncan" pickups are pretty decent.  I am very happy with my JS32 Warrior, and IMO, it will compete with guitars costing in the $500-$600 range.

I've played my JS32 back to back with my USA model, and while the USA model does sound better (as it should...), the JS32 does not embarrass itself.

I doubt it's a pro or a js series, neither of those had a polka dot version, and the Pro series said "Professional" on the headstock. It's most likely as RX10D model...

After looking at it, I'm almost certain it's a JS30.  The insignia is the same on the headstock of his guitar as it is on my JS32, plus it looks like the same exact neck.

Yes, you are correct the Pro Series did say "Pro" on the headstock (Just did a Google search...).

***EDIT (again)***

Geez, everybody's posting at the same time!  :laughing11:

Since the JS model didn't have this finish, and it's been discovered it's an X Series, I guess that's what it is!  :eek:ccasion14:

Wow, some really nice scores there Doug  :headbang1:
I love the polka dots also!  I have always wanted a Buddy Guy strat which is basically the same polka dot design.
Sweet Martin as well.  I am very green with envy!!!
