New gig

I think some of you know that I play regularly in a Praise and Worship format. Well today was the 1st day playing for our new church. Things went great! Now to figure out why my ugly mug was up on the screens so much. My wife said they did close ups on me at least 5 times.

I have no idea. Intensity? Maybe more being in the Spirit. Attendance was fair at 350-450. It was good to see them all standing getting into the message via song.

more importantly, what guitars were you playing?!

kidding haha that sounds really cool. i went to church today for the first time in a year or two. i'm too claustrophobic to sit on a pew for very long before i start to get really uncomfortable. sounds like a terrible excuse, but it's true. they were doing a musical special, and i kept thinking about how i wish i had been up front with my warmoth or my acoustic. really small church though, we might have had 50 or 60 people there today.

I was playing my Godin Flat Five X as I needed dual voice capability. (Some day I may upgrade my W Strat body to accomodate this). This new church is fairly contemporary, so no pews. The Celebration Center (sanctuary) holds 875. You have got to really rely on good monitoring. While FOH sound out there is quite good, on stage it is horrible. Many freqs seems almost blocked. Going DI to FOH is definately a plus here.
