whelp! it's in! my 4x10+6.5/1x18 cab! here's a couple pics:

as far as the cab...this thing proves wrong all the naysayers when it comes to 18's. the rig as a whole is super deep, rich, high-fi, and super responsive with no flub. the overdrive sound is just unmatched. I'm so glad I didn't bother with a tweeter, too. this thing just sounds like thunder on 1.

it handles something like 1400 watts RMS @ 2ohms. each half is 4 ohms since it's designed to be ran in stereo, but it can also be ran mono with a 2ohm head. the bottom half is good for 800w, and I believe the top half is good for 600w. oh, it also weighs about 85lbs. considering most 4x10's on the market weigh the same, and it's slightly larger than an Ampeg fridge, that is just astounding. I'm a guy of average strength, and I have no problems picking it up and moving it, if necessary. it has pop out casters that go on the bottom for ease of transportation, too.I can't wait to bring it to practice and really crank it up!

do I qualify for the "rig of doom" category, yet?...

yea, that head is amazing! it sounds so freaking good! the only amp I can think would ever put in it's place would be an Egnater Tourmaster 4100. that thing = beast

doughboy, I need some decent firepower when my guitarist is using a Fender Quad Reverb and a Vox AC30. (and no, it's not a volume war, it's a conscious decision to play really, really loud)

I definitely bi-amp:

the Carvin is used for the highs/mids/overdrive going to the sealed 4x10+6.5". the SWR is for the lows and it goes to the ported 1x18.

as far as moving it around, it's not too terribly bad. it has removable casters on each corner that make moving it easy. as far as lifting it, it's only about 85lbs. that was an estimation given to me by Don.

and yes, it's ridiculous! lol.

I'm not dealing with crossovers and all. I'm sending the neck pickup to the SWR and 1x18, and the p pickup and the X2N-7 to the Carvin X100B and that goes to the 4x10+6.5.

it's really not. it's about 85 pounds, or so. using a 1x18 instead of four more 10's cut down on weight and cost a lot. I figure with an 8x10+6.5" setup, it'd weigh at least 130lbs. the 18 will handle 800 watts, anyway, and reach down to low 30hz, so it seems to be a superior choice. also, I made a video over the weekend with a drummer friend and I improvising with me using Vincent and the new cab/heads. here ya go.
