The problem with building really nice basses is , I came to the point where the old amp was just not cutting it.

Update ..  There was a 2 month + backlog so I went in another direction ..  The new Galien -Krueger MB800 Fusion  a 3 x 12AX7 prea-amp and 800 watt power amp , and a Bergantino HD 212 700w  cab  .  While the Mesa is a great rig , they have been having issue with the KT88's  .  The Berg cab's have a really good rep , several of my Pro Bass playing friends gave it a two thumbs up

Oughta do it. All power ratings and "sounds like..." are irrelevant when it comes to bass amps. The one dimension that matters, and which amp makers seem (curiously) reluctant to tout:

CAN IT KILL
THE DRUMMER?

I don't mean just kill, but crush him, decapitate, dry-em-out-n-smoke-em kill dead, like.
Looks like a good one. :icon_thumright:

In my head, I know that a power amp that's intended to be always and forever clean, with huge transient capabilities... has no real need for a  monster tube power amp. They're heavy, like hurt yourself heavy, expensive, and did I mention heavy. But I still want one, and I'm not even a real bass player.

Sounds like the PS is a switching power supply, which is a no brainer these days - particularly for ridiculous monster bass amps.
