New album: Bad Blood

Help me PICK THE FIRST SINGLE!!!

I'm planning to do videos for one or two songs. For those of you who have listened to all the songs (and thank-you so much, BTW!) which two songs would you choose for the "singles"?
Madam Desire.....................as an aside, I wrote nearly the exact same song in my teens about Nellie Olsen from "Little House on the Prairie" it was called "Naughty Nellie" granted the wordsmithin' was less sophisticated, but the correlation between our two songs is uncanny.

"Naughty Nellie, your so smelly"
"Keep acting that a way, you'll go to Hellie"

I think you get the idea, can't reveal all of it, as I don't want my lyrics hijacked.

Yes mine is bad humor, but your lyrics are great. As your "unofficial" manager, you need to strike whilst the proverbial iron is hot Aaron! Synch up Madam Desire to the current "Bachelorette" Video and climb aboard the current hype train......................hurry!!

I finished listening to all the songs.

Dangerous Touch gets my vote. It's got that sort of sinister vibe i like in my hard rock, and its got a great hook. By the way, I really like the slinky guitar run you do near the end of the guitar solo. Something about it seems unique and cool.

I also really liked Snake Doctor too but being an instrumental, its probably not a candidate as a single. Thats ok. Dangerous Touch has got you covered.

Good luck on promoting the album.

That's some detailed listening. Thanks so much!

Yes, the lead gtr solo on DT is probably the one I am most proud of on this album. It just strikes me as unique, from the little pick scrape that starts it to the end run you referenced.

"Clowns never laughed before"
"Beanstalks never grew"
"Ponies never ran before"
"Till I met you"

I also tried something new on the guitar tones. All the rhythm guitars are either P90 or Filtertrons. I used humbuckers on the lead guitars only. Listening to it now, I think it gave everything a more ratty sound, which hopefully serves the songs.
Powertron or Filtertron? I just saw your video comparing the two. Which one sits better in the mix in your opinion?

Powertron gets a little too close to PAF for what I like. I have a whole mess of videos coming up in the next couple months that compare various TV Jones pickups. My favorite of the bunch: Classic Plus.

I have never played filtertrons but recently enjoyed the Gretsch sounds a bit more. My current home turf is an H-S-S strat with, say a JB and some very straty single coils (Lollars, Fenders). I am currently building a Mooncaster and I was thinking to start my journey with Powertron (H) - Classic (N). What do you reckon?

I reckon you are some kind of mind reader. Here is the guitar I built for all those upcoming vids (complete with cool truss rod cover by @supertruper1988!). It's a Mooncaster with an Hombre neck.

Woah, the truss rod cover is sick - was my first thought. Mine is a Mooncaster with a meadowhawk ebony macassar neck. Will soon start my build thread.

@aarontunes really curious about those vids. Can you give me an indication of how "right" my powertron/classic path is?

Classic in the neck is for sure the right way to go.

The bridge just depends on what you are after. If you play with gain as I do I would not recommend a Classic. Powertron is a better move there for sure IMO. Less highs, more beef, and much better with gain. However, I found it a little too close to PAF voicing for what I wanted in this particular guitar. I really wanted something that still had the archetypal "clang" of a filtertron. Classic Plus sits right in between them, and what I opted for.

OK, I will start with my envisioned setup. Will then try Classic Plus next. Fascinating new world for me :-)

For me, the high-water mark for 'trons with gain is Malcolm. I believe his signature Gretsch has a Powertron. However I am pretty sure his actual guitar still had the original Gretsch Filter'Tron.

But to my ears, a Classic Plus is the ticket to Malcolmville.
