Neat. Hott Lixx.
:party07:

It's got the leg rest thing even though it's Strat-shaped?

I was wondering yesterday when you'd get this one! Look forward to seeing/hearing the vid when I get home today.

Killer axe

Yupe. It has the fold out leg rest. I used to think they would be unnecessary on a strat shaped one, but they work really well & balance the guitar in a way that makes playing while sitting down so much more comfortable.

Nice catch. Are you finding the lack of a headstock to be uncomfortable at all?

I thought that would be a major problem & was really worried since I bought it sight unseen having never played any headless guitars before. However, it didn't bother me at all. I'm still surprised that it doesn't. It's actually one of the most comfortable & well balanced guitars I've ever played.

Good for you, I'm glad to hear that. I've not played that style neck, and so have always wondered about it myself. I guess whenever I did give it any thought, somewhere in the back of my head a voice would say "if it's such a great idea, why don't more manufacturers/builders do it?" Perhaps it's just different rather than better or worse, so traditional design wins.

My guess as to why more companies don't go headless is pure cosmetics. Let's face it, headless guitars look odd & headstocks look cool. IMO, a strat headstock is beautiful & about as perfect a shape as you can get. Plus, you can't use exotic woods on headless guitars as most aren't strong enough.

Which exotic wood wouldn't be strong enough? I would think losing the headstock would open up even more woods to be used for necks. For instance, Goncalo Alves isn't offered in a tilt-back design, but it is in a straight neck.
