Need Help With My First Body...Natural Finish

Hi All,

I purchased a soloist alder body and my goal is to make it look like this:

The body in the image is Koa. Although I have worked with wood and stains (I'm a DIY home owner) I've never done a guitar body. So i need the whole the soup and nuts. I want to do the body as close to this as I can, (whether or not it's do-able is another thing)...So in a nutshell, I want to replicate this guitar...I already bought the neck which is of strat/charvel type..

To be honest, that body looks more like alder. Tru-oil might get you there, not sure. You shouldn't have much trouble.
