Greetings,

Putting together a Hybrid Tele with 2 HB's (Suhr Thornbucker + for Bridge and Thornbucker Neck) and a Dimarzio Cruiser in the middle, using a 5 way switch.

I picked up a couple of CTS SPST (not DPST) pots where I want to be able to split the Suhr's.  Want to run Bridget to Vol 1 (SPST), neck and middle to Vol 2 (SPST....I want separate volumes for bridge and neck), and then a tone knob (standard pot).

I've researched and can't find diagrams for how the SPST points flow.  Any thoughts on how to wire this?

Thanks!

You'd just connect the 'link' wires - white and red - to one terminal and the other terminal to ground.

Thanks for the info.  Any idea what to connect to on a CTS SPST?  I haven't seen any diagrams on which wires go to which connectors on the pots.

If your CTS SPST only has two terminals at the switch part of the pot, then connect the red and white of the Suhr pickup to one of those terminals and the other to ground. It does not matter which as when the switch is engaged the red and white wire will shunt to ground giving the split. When the switch is disengaged this connection is broken.

As the red and white wire are soldered together on the same terminal this provides the series link between the two humbucker coils when not shunted to ground to give the split.

The other three lugs of the pot you would wire as per the rest of whatever wiring scheme you are using.

Note that the 'on' - ie split - position is up. I imagine that's what most people would want, but you can't choose, whereas with a double throw switch you can.

I have lucked out and finally found a wiring diagram for what I want to do.  From the Dimarzio wiring diagrams.....
