having a hard time finding a neck i like and have a body that was custom done for me and it has a 24" scale neck. when the guy made it for me it was supposed to have a 24.75 but in the end we worked it out and for a large discount i kept it because the body was fantastic. anyway what would it take to get a 24.75 neck and use it on this body? how far would i have to move the bridge or could i space the neck out a bit further to make up for the difference if its small (not sure how much things would have to be moved) warmoth has some awesome necks in 24.75 but in 24 im very limited it seems. the headstock on this one cracked and id rather replace the whole neck then try to fix this one.

can anyone help or give me info?

thank you

Anything's possible but we'd need a bit more info - some good, clear photos would help too. Is it totally custom/bespoke, or is it made to fit a Fender style Mustang/Jaguar neck? If the latter, then it may well 'just' be a matter of moving the bridge, otherwise there are too many variables to say how easy it would be without some accurate measurements etc.

If it's a Fender mustang/jaguar compatible 24" scale neck, than yes, you can replace it with a 24.75" warmoth 7/8th 24 fret neck.  That's the only neck that's a drop in replacement for the Mustang/Jag bodies.  They don't advertise it, but the necks are cross compatible. There's a thread somewhere where they talk about the 7/8ths necks working w/Mustangs, and someone asked if the reverse was possible. They said technically yes, but since the 7/8ths bodies are not official Fender replacements, they can't officially say yes.

For a standard 25.5" or 24.75" conversion neck, bridge saddles should be 7-1/8" from the heel of neck for proper intonation.  For a Mustang/Jag, bridge saddles should be 6-1/4" from the heel of neck for proper intonation.  You'd definitely need to move it back for the conversion neck.

All this assumes the neck is mustang compatible, though.

The 24-fret 24.75" scale Warhead necks are a direct, bolt-in replacement for the 24" scale 22-fret Mustang/Jaguars. If the distances work, you're in business. If there are slight differences, it may be easier to fidget the neck pocket around, rather than move the bridge. Like the man says, if the base of the neck pocket is 6.25" from your highest "E" string saddle, you're in business. The neck overhang isn't what counts, but you should be able to get a good idea if your guitar was built to standard Fender dimensions just by comparing it to pictures.
