Inlay in place and curing. Needs to be sanded and touched up after sanding. Some areas need a little more material added. Used crushed mother of pearl dyed with TransTint dyes.  Black, red and yellow dyes were used because the burst finish has those three colors.

Great Hairy Ned!!! .... that is just over the top.  Went from Mother of Pearl to Mother of God.... just fantastic!
Thanks, I hope I can get the finish right when it is sanded down. Getting the Mother of pearl flush with the wood is tricky because of the scalloped surface.

That looks outstanding. Way nicer than before. Can't wait to see it all sanded and finished off.

Thanks, I can't wait to be done with it. I bit off a large piece of work when I took on the inlaying. This is the first time I've ever done something like this. Learned a lot of things that my help others save time.

That is coming along well. "Sorry" I suggested it and gave you extra work... :occasion14:
Actually...I am in your debt. This is fun, challenging and I now have a new skill set that is valuable and interesting :toothy10: I'm going to apply my new found interest to more items made of wood. Cheers mate :toothy10:

No problem. Glad it is working out...

Indeed! Same here. Pretty ambitious work, but it'll definitely be a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece.

Thanks, Those are two beautiful works on your profile. I hope this turns out a least half as nice as your winning builds.
