Necessity, invention and Warmoth Necks.

...I got to take a look at his custom shop Fender Strat and the neck on it had a very interesting shape. It was like a Warmoth standard thin with the shoulders sanded down but not quite to a V shape. Jimmy said it was his favorite neck to play on.

In talks with other Warmoth neck owners (for both guitar & bass, and not posting here) - that's a critique/request I've heard before.

So it's a basically a Standard Thin Soft Boatneck?

Name suggestions:  "The Dinghy" or "The Skiff"

I second
The Dinghy

... too many times neck names try to be too cool, The Dinghy is more in the pocket.  Or, come to think of it, you could also call it The Minnow ... ... now sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started from this tropic port aboard this mighty ship ...

The Minnow crossed my mind, but really an obscure reference to the younger crowd, and probably copyrighted in the sense that it refers to that boat.

I met Jimmy Herring in Seattle and took him some necks he wanted to check out. I got to take a look at his custom shop Fender Strat and the neck on it had a very interesting shape. I took measurements of it and duplicated it for a neck of my own. I've been playing on it for quite awhile now and everyone that touches that neck comments on how great the contour feels. Others here at Warmoth really like it as well and we've all felt A LOT of necks. So, we are working on adding it to our list of contour options.

I look forward to seeing it on regular and conversion necks in the near future.

Ginger!

... definitely!  Mary Anne was cute, loved her shorts, and definitely a babe - but everything about Tina Louise - face, hair, lips, body, hips, legs - everything! - was flawless ... oh yes, and her milky skin (on the tropical island).  Loved her in that skin tight, red squined evening dress.  Yup, Ginger!

Easy there champ.  Kind of strayed off course if contour-shape was the name motivation;  though Mrs. Howl could, in some way, be appropriate as far as the theme of "our castaways" goes.

i'm more a fan of the girl next door type with a cute but. i once fell for one of those "perfect woman"type. she told me everything a man could want to hear and even seemed polite and genuine about it. i wound up being stationed halfway across the country for a while. when i looked her up a year later she didn't know who i was. she played the perfect people pleaser but was a total tease

women are just crazy and evil, the sooner a man accepts that the better off he will be, only trust the ones who will admit to both lol.

thats why guys usually name boats, guitars, cars after women, because THOSE are true companions  :icon_thumright:

You only say that cause you've only gotten the hots for crappy women.  Too bad you have bad taste.

Hannah, just don't forget you're married  :icon_jokercolor:

True, I'm taken.  There are lots of nice girls out there though, it's ridiculous to say that women are all evil.  Every guy I know who dates trashy women says that, but it's because they choose awful people to date.  Of course, there are also a lot of girls who say all guys are bastards, but then they go out of their way to date bastards.  Go fig.  I guess terrible jerkwad = hot to most people.
