It lets you add thwacks from a small group to create "beats" - it's got volume, speed, and "echo" (reverb) adjustments, and you can set the number of bars. The coolest part is the "shuffle" slider, that goes from straight fours to triplets with the elusive dotted-8's somewhere in-between. There's actually a lot more complicated things out there, even free ones, all the way up to near-pro software - but that's the charm of this little thing - it doesn't even confuse me, and if ever there was someone born with un-natural rhythm....  :laughing3:

(I think "The Drummers Bible" by Berry & Gianni is a book near-required for any band musician's library, unless you've given up all hope of communicating any concepts more complicated than "start", "stop" and "beer" with the drummerfolk.)
