My first soloist and guitar from Warmoth. I've done some other "kits" from different sources and I wouldn't even put this in that category, it's a 100% professional guitar...
Body:
Swamp Ash
I dyed it myself, used an ebony stain for the grain, sanding it way back down, dyed with Keda red and 3 sessions of that to get it a deep red.
Clear coated with 2K urethane and three step polishing
Neck:
Wolfgang profile, roasted maple neck and Warmoth stainless steel frets. I did do a fret level, a very light one considering it was nearly perfect out of the box. My crowning tool doesn't have the particular peak the warmoth frets come as but I actually like it better my way
I burnished the neck to 10000 grit, it's astoundingly smooth and comfortable to play. The kind where you put it down, stare at it and just pick it right back up again and keep playing
Schaller tremolo
Cook Sonic pickups, essentially 50's PAF's
Switchcraft 3 way toggle and a CTS 1M audio pot
It sounds extremely Les Paul like with a better clarity in the upper end which I attribute to the 1meg pot.
Headstock label is on order, just my last name but that will finish it off.
