MY New Toys

I'm a junkie for Electronic gadgets.
I can remeber shelling out oodles of cash for a new fangled 2 Megapixel camera not so long ago. Well, I really cannot afford to buy new off the rack stuff, but when an opportunity presents itself to get a new piece of gear at a bargain , I pounce on it like a hungry Puma.
I was in San Antonio yesterday, and went to about 6 or 8 pawnshops. At one of them, I found this latest generation Olympus Stylus 1030SW Freezeproof, Crushproof and Waterproof Digicam . I really pride myself in knowing how to deal with the pawnshops, and how to know if the unit is damaged or is a great working condition.
I got it for 145.00 total, but added a 6 month return for credit policy which brought the total to 155.00, which works for me cause it had everything, a XD card, battery and charger , and is really a great little unit.
I also lucked out, cause I've been looking for a MD recording unit-now out of production., for, like, ever. Yesterday I found one in real nice condition, and offered the pawnshop a lowball offer on it, even though I would have snapped it up at their asking price. Well,, I got it for , like, 25 bucks plus tax. I love this thing; Sony Hi-MD recorder!

I've got the older Oly 790SW - pretty much the same as yours but lower pixels and slightly different lens (yours does a bit wider).  Not a stellar optical performer, but you can get neat effects by manipulating the preset modes (and using in non-suggested ways).  I like it for work, since its effin' indestructible.

Plus its neat to drop your camera into a beer at the bar and dig it out and shoot some pics.

Don't tell me this camera doesnt have an "erase all" feature? I've on;ly been able to erase pictures one at a time. that would TRULY sucketh!
