I've been thinking about how cool it would be to have an archtop "twin sister" for my J-45...

I was wondering whether there ever any 1940's sunburst, script logo, creme body binding, exact spec archtop "twins" to my J-45, and I found her...

And now, against all reason, I'm dead set on finding one just like it. If I didn't already have the J-45, she would be my unobtainable dream guitar, but as it stands, it's this and an early jazzer.

Man, that thing is hot. Even the tuners are the same, and not original.. It's weird, almost...

Whoa...
I'd sell a nut for one of those. it is the one of only two acoustics on my bucket list.
That and a vintage round neck Dobro.

I've got my J-45, and it would be interesting... I know there are other factors, but I'm curiousto hear the differences between an archtop and a flat top of like spec.

Your J45 has a standard sound hole, I find this design to be more open and bright VS. the mellow mid range tone that an Archtop with F Holes produces. hence the popularity with jazz guys.
I think it would be a great set to A-B against one another.

Well that's had some years of loving  :icon_thumright:

What's the history of it ?
Was it your grand-dads or a like    :dontknow:

I sure hope ya didn't hit that, with that 'prime-vibe' woop woop thingamagigi
That would kill the mogo it has ....

Damaged wood, poor paint, worn frets, rusty strings, tarnished tuners, no cutaway for lower fret access.
0/10 Would not play.  Toss it in a fire.

Thanks UpDown. She was bought for $400 by my dad in the 90's, sold "as-is", meaning "broken". He swapped the old tuners, they were bent, and now she is great.. I've turned down $4000, I really love her.

Please try, though, not to be so close minded about PrimeVibe. Perhaps Debrah will chime in, she's still active.

Stubhead should be making a couple sound clips. I honestly hope that he has good results like I did.

Well, for jebus' sake, you don't have to live with it, now do you?

Please.
