i'm a big fan of offset waist guitars (jazzmaster, esp viper/warmoth diamondback) because i always play sitting down. i've never had an offset bass because i'm not crazy about the tone of any jazz bass i've heard. warmoth to the rescue! jazz body, p-style pickup, and that fifth string that i can't live without.

body: standard 5 mim, black korina, stained and sealed by rick at acorn restoration in oakland ca
neck: standard 5 mim, ebony on wenge, 6150 frets, all raw
bridge: hipshot
electronics: 500k cts pots, .047 orange drop (still need to drill another hole - want to place the bridge first)
all hardware in black

i struggled a lot with the black vs. gold hardware decision. ultimately i thought the gold would make it too classy for me to play.  :icon_biggrin:

She's a beauty. Congratulations.

What pickup will you be installing?

thanks! and whoops, i forgot that part: after almost hitting "buy" on a delano, i decided to go for the nordstrand np5. i already have a musicman stingray - i want something more vintage and growly.

Very nicely done!  The pickup is this one, right?  I really like the look of something other than regular P-style poles, though IMO the Delano is just a tad cooler:

Yeppers. That's the one.

I opted out of the Delanos (even though they look super rad) because I already have a MusicMan Stingray5 and I was looking for something very P-Bass sounding. I just finished the build and wow do the Nordstrands ever deliver. Big low end without being boomy and great mid response. Couldn't be happier.

Pics coming soon of course  :headbang:
