I saw this on the Showcase months ago and thought it would be cool to do it to go with my Strat.  Here she be.
I think from now on I'll shoot my bursts hanging instead of clamped level in a vise.

You're the man Tonar!  :icon_thumright:

Just found it weird that you throw the red AFTER the black, is that the normal way or "tricky card inside the sleeve"?
Do you do relic jobs???

To be fair, your guitars are the only one that I can stand the three color burst!!!  :cool01:
You do it very "skinny" and turns fine... Hate the Fender ones!

Thank you Fernanado!

When doing a Fender Style Burst it is the common pratice to shoot the dark band first then shoot into it with the light color.

I prefer to get the lacquer on light enough that it will relic naturally as the guitar is played.  I find that everyone attacks the guitar different so it looks more natural as the player tears it up himself.   I also hate to put that much work into a finish and then start tearing it up.  That said I’d do any thing if the money is right and it’s not my guitar, and I have done relics. But I get in trouble with my wife when I do a relic because doesn’t like finding guitars in the freezer when I start cracking the lacquer.  For her it’s bad enough that guitars are all over the house but when they wind up in the freezer she gets a little irritable.

Thank you Greg, I'll let you know when I'm getting a beaten up Strat  :evil4:
