mounting pickups to the body

I am building my first warmoth (PRS/VIP body style).  I bought dimarzio pickups and would like to mount them to the wood directly but I'm scared that when I screw them into the wood that I will go right through it.  I'm also worried that if I don't go through it, the screws will not hold because the wood is not very thick.  I would appreciate any advice you can give me.  Thank you.

The direct mount route is different than the route for rings.  They are the same foot print, but the direct mount route does not have the recess for the screws.

Your worries are for naught, my friend.

You will want to use threaded inserts and machine screws to mount them.  It's very easy to do and if you run a search, you will find some great examples.
