Has anyone used a Mother of Pearl nut?
I know they are commonly used in Banjos and Mandolins.
In the early 1930s MOP nuts were used in High-End acoustics.
It is a hard material which shouldn’t take-away from the sound.
I'm hoping it won't have so much treble and enhance the low and mid tones.
This is going on a Tele:
Sapele body
Indian Rosewood neck
Katalox fretboard

Honestly never thought about a pearl nut.  It should be beautiful.  Nice chunks of wood by the way.

It sure would look nice, but I’m not sure how it would hold up with that much tension on it it 6 or 7 slotted spots.  It’s har to beat a well cured/cut no bone nut, even that is hard to argue against the value and performance of a Tusq nut.
