More Carved Tops

Here's one of my scratch built bodies with a Warmoth neck on it.

USAG and a few other smaller builders I've pestered recently do.  The just don't have the sexy wood selection that Warmoth does.

Although W curved top bodies will be more expensive from next month, a curved tele body is missing from W's line for those who afford to spend more.

I imagine they don't do a carved top with F-holes, because the INSIDE of the top would have to be carved as well as the outside. But c'mon, with CNC machines, this should be easy enough.

I  would be first in line for a carved top w/ an F-hole or double F-holes (a la Trey Anastasio, exactly!). It would look GREAT with the carved LPS shape.

How do you figure that? It's doable two ways if they set up the CNC machining...

How do you figure that? It's doable two ways if they set up the CNC machining...

a guy I know made a program for a CNC machine. it works a bit like paint and photoshop. that easy. copy-paste the works, and the CNC will do what you want. the computer translates whatever you do in that program, to a workable vectorsheet for the routerbits. but he's quite reluctant to sell it. quite understandable.

I believe Gregg hinted at one time they were coming, but I may have misinterpreted that.. or maybe he got sick of me bringing it up  :icon_biggrin:

I'm so interested in a double f holed carved top tele that...  well...  there is a competetor out there that does this...  And its now less than a Warmoth all mahogany LP carved top.
