Welcome.

Is that from the in stock section or a custom order?  The reason I ask is because I can't tell if you're disappointed or pleasantly surprised with the finish.  If I had to guess, the finish does not look like their blackwash dye, but transpsrent black.  While both are transparent, a dye goes in the wood and their transparent finishes go on the wood and the transparent blacks I've seen do have a brownish subtlety.  Regardless, those are nice choices all around and not many hit it out of the park the first time around like this one did.

Sorry, both are showcase - damn lucky they were both on at the same time.

Believe me they look better in the flesh than in my crappy photos.

I am VERY happy with the way the wash came out.

I know zero about building guitars but should 'fess up that I live 2 houses and a street crossing from Updown who some of you will know.

I think you can piece the story together....

Inspired & looking forward to getting her together.

Thanks for your kind comments.

Thanks for purchasing an all-pau neck :icon_thumright:

I'm dead set on one as well, but I'm hoping one shows up in showcase closer to my specs. THe more people that buy one, the more likely that is, as they have to keep replacing them :icon_thumright:

(If any W employees are wondering, my dream neck is q-sawn Pau neck with q-sawn fb, WPro construction, SS6230, SRV contour (I'd settle for '59 as well), strat neck of course. I'd likely re-cut it to a Warhead for $45, start it on a Fender strat and move it to a carved-top soloist once I could afford (Zebrawood top?)  :occasion14:

Hey but I remember the BillyCart & a Pinball Machine you made back in the 60's ….. So a Guitar should be No problem !!
:icon_scratch: Then again you may need a hand …..

Thats right blame me for your GAS  :laughing7:
So if any detectives out there might have noticed some pic's / background, would match some I've posted previously.

Anyway...
I gotta say this really dose look just beautiful in the Raw Flesh. The Neck is perfect for this body finish.  :icon_thumright:  Very good 1st up choice indeed.
Great to see someone else's Warmoth build in front of my own eyes ….. Always better in the Flesh !!

But …. I think Blackouts has had a 'Blackout' somewhere since buying this body !!  :laughing3:

He keeps saying to me (& above in 1st post) that it's a ….. Washed Black Finish ….   I'm sure he dreamt this one up.

So since I haven't had a beer or anything else as yet, today.  :icon_jokercolor:
I'll just clarify the body finish, STATED from the showcase spec's are …

Top Finish …… Transparent Black (this is correct)

Back Finish … Black Dye  (think this is a mistake)

OK … We both believe the Back is finished in Black Gloss, NOT Black Dye, looks just like mine I have.
It's a solid body too, weight was 4lbs 4oz….

Yep correct !!
I understand how a Transparent Finish can have a different tinge to it from the actual colour chosen or done already. Plus wood texture.
As I had a Transparent Finish (Yellow) put onto my Strat GK-3 'The Cigar' pic in my aviator.
Which wasn't as yellow as I was expecting (still very happy with thou) is more of a Golden Honey Brown colour.

With this one of 'Blackouts' it has a real coffee / chocolate misty eat-able look to it (even the Neck) that gives different tinges from other angles.
Really think the black hardware being used, is going to just look great on this build …. should be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, chocolate... :laughing7:

This is the mate whom's arm I'm twisting for one of your Custom Neckplates ….

Ummmm …. May-be a M&M character  :cool01:  with a huge bite mark in it.  :laughing7:

With a B (instead of M) for Browny

Hey all …..  :sign13:  remember last months winning guitar had this type of colour.

Can't wait till this one's served up  :blob7:  I'm Hungry for some Chocolate  :blob7:

I have the luxury of looking at your pics on my properly callibrated PC monitor today rather than my crappy and tiny netbook. The body looks fantastic - good enough to eat. Your guitar will look stunning.  :occasion14:

You've gotta love Warmoth's work - I've never seen such nice guitars over here - except stupidly expensive custom shop gibsons at about $10k

Definitely milk chocolate, and/or coffee, and is that a spot of golden honey? Or a reflection of another light?

:kewlpics:

Coupla reflections of yellowish overhead lights in a few...

By the way I now have the pickups & guitar case, and knobs are on order.

P/up cavity painting & assembly work to commence this weekend.

Assembly thread will follow shortly after.

Can't wait !
