Mistake in my very first order

Hi all,

I've just ordered a custom neck and body last saturday (10th April 2010)

I asked for standard stainless steel frets but I didn't know there were golden fret available...On a ziricote fretboard, it should be nice !

Since I have to wait 10-12 weeks, I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to change my order, so, I replied to their confirmation order email to ask them to put golden frets instead. No answer so far after 1 day (I know, I'm quite impatient to know if it's possible or not...). Because the parts have to be delivered in Belgium, I don't want to mess with the order...

Did I do it wrong ? Is there an "offical" Warmoth way to modify the order ?

Thanks for any reply that can clarify !

The general opinion here is that a phone call works much better than an email.

They will e\get back to you, they usually just have a backlog of emails.

Thanks for that reply because, actually, that's what I thought ! Too impatient, too impatient...But hey, when I see all those necks and bodies, who wouldn't be !

There will probably be a fee to change the order. I can't recall off the top of my head how much it is. $25 maybe?

I can understand your anxiety. Those gold frets are gorgeous, very nearly as hard as stainless and just as glassy smooth. On that neck, you gotta have 'em! <grin>

Got an answer and for info here is the mail :

Dear Benoit,
I will make this change for you, no problem. The Gold Fretwire is $30. I will have my clerk bill that to your card.
Thank you for your addition.
Best regards,

Bob Randolph

Yes, indeed.

But Bob said "Thank you for your addition".
It isn't an addition, is it ? It's rather a change, well, that's what I think...I can't have stainless steel AND golden frets on the same fretboard...lol
