I think the bigger problem with tuner screws, pickguard screws etc. is stripping the heads of the screws, not so much that it'll break or just not go in. Sadly, not all screws are really good steel, and I can't even find a really high-grade #00 tiny Phillips head screwdriver that I trust forever. When the blades get sketchy I resharpen them once, but I usually end up buying a new #00 every four or five years. The hex-drive heads for power drivers are better metal, but I can't find one that small (and no, I WOULDN'T drive it with a power tool!
