Mic'ing a ganjo

thats right, i received a Ganjo (banjo that is strung and tuned like a regular 6 string) as a bday present this year. anybody got any ideas as to amplifying it? bear in mind that i would like to plug it into my guitar amp, NOT  a PA. i DONT want to use a microphone on it (despite the thread title), i literally want to be able to take my lead out of my electric, plug it into the Ganjo, and have the sound go through my amp. a convential guitar pickup wont fit under the strings and probably wont amplify the actually "sound" that the body gets, so i am thinking of a Piezo of some kind? perhaps one that attaches to the Ganjo "skin"? if anybody has experience with certain brands etc please let me know!!

also, i'm planning on experimenting with distorting the sound (using pedals and the amp), i realise this WILL be difficult with piezo's, as well as the resonant body will want to feedback like crazy, however i do want to try it for myself. anybody know of a piezo that works ok-ish with distortion? any help would be massively appreciated!!!

Can you post a picture of it. I'm wondering if there's room to suspend a tele pup between the head and the strings.

you can get one of those stick on transducers
