Meanwhile, at Warmoth....the Turtle goes on a weight-reduction plan

So, we needed to order new stickers this week, and I got asked to supply the B&W turtle image. I took opportunity to spruce up Mr. Turtle's look a little. I thought it would be fun to show the evolution of Mr. Turtle through the years.

How many differences can you spot between the 2010 and the soon-to-be-released 2016 version?

I prefer the current version, it's more detailed. Now the strings are aligned correctly on the headstock but his guitar needs a pickup selector.

2016.....Warhead and straight string pull.  Makes sense with a signature headstock carrying an appropriate namesake. Also an assurance on precision of neck and body parts demonstrated by the straight string pull.

Nice job!  I see overall line thickness increased, shadows for his shell & arms, warhead neck actually makes the strings straight!, there's actually a bridge on the guitar now, and a defined left knee.
Do I win?!

I prefer the quaintness of the 1980 version, but the 2016 version is an improvement over the 2010 version. The guitar now has straight string paths from nut to tuner, and includes a bridge. It also has a better shadow by the feet, and some more defined lines on the turtle's body. Good work!

Shaded lines, both knees more defined, cheekbones rounded, eyes don't look like he's on speed anymore, guitar has a bridge and a nut, strings are properly lined with tuners. The 2016 version is definitely superior.

As Kostas pointed out, he needs a pickup selector. How about some frets for the neck, too?

You guys have pretty much found all the changes. One no has specifically mentioned is the liposuction on his right leg. It no longer looks terminally obese. rgand was the first to mention the subtle change to eyes...they now have sparkles, and look like someone is home.

I know there are a lot of little details missing, like frets, etc., but you have to remember that this Mr. Turtle gets used in a gigantic range of sizes, including some so small that a lot of little details would essentially render to black.

The original 80's version certainly does have that quaint, hand-drawn look to it, but as the world marches on towards the Disney-fication of all things....

Speaking of which: I'm so pumped for the new Star Wars!!!
