Nice...a poly satin so it will stay satin.  Unlike nitro satin.

It was my first thought. If that's correct then it's a good move.

Any chance I can turn a gloss poly into satin on a body I have?

I've done it.  sand paper, steel wool, and other torture methods (dropped Philip screwdrivers, cigarette burns, dropping on concrete, you know - the usual  )  worked pretty well.
