My brother lives in Ottawa, and I told him about our famous Mayfly.  He told me he saw this amp for sale two weeks ago at Spaceman!

I'm hoping to catch Kashmir in action one of these days when I visit our friends to the North.

My brother is a musician working in town too, I am confident there is going to be one of those miraculous circumstances one of these days where everyone just runs into each other, and realizes they've "seen that guy around before."

is there no neutral? in the us 220v is two hots of opposite phase and 110 is a hot and a neutral so there is no need to stepdown. you get 220 for appliences and one leg of that off the main powers the rest of the circuits for 110. if your outlets have a neutral or even a ground you may be able to use 110-125v stuff. using the ground is at your own discretion as it is against the fire codes in my area for any new construction the ground is a safety feature and shouldn't carry current in normal situations but it was once common practice to use it within machines to get a lower voltage for contactor controls.
