And your first hand experience with any Ducati would be?

I'm just sayin...

Gentlemen,

I should point out that this body was pre-routed at the factory for the bender.  It uses a more traditional Parsons/White style bender mechanism than my current Parsons/Green bender guitars.  Some folks claim that the Parsons/White feel is better and you can get sweeter bends out of it because of the longer throw of the arm.  The body and mechanism "kit" (from WD music BTW), allows this to happen without asking Mr Parsons to install a bender into one of my existing guitars.

Using a bender has become an integral part of my playing style and I've been wanting to try one of these different benders for awhile now.  Looking forward to this on many levels.

Even though blue and green are at the same end of the spectrum, to me they don't really go together. But, that could be my mother's fault. I remember as a kid being told numerous times "you don't wear blue with green!" Why? I dunno. Then years later I read that self-help book "Dress for Success", and they said men should never wear green under any circumstances, period. Why? I dunno. It's supposed to be the easiest color for our eyes to discern, and certainly the bulk of the planet is covered in green. If you're a sheep in human clothing and believe the tripe Algore spreads, the coolest thing you can be these days is 'green'. But, green is maligned for some reason. Why? I dunno.

However, he who has the gold makes the rules.

My wife was giving me the spiel about how any 2 primary colors can go together, any 2 secondary colors can go together, and so on.  Greens, browns, and grays I often confuse depending on the lighting (not good considering my profession - electrician).  Mens' eyes are supposedly more rod leaning; can judge contrast.  Some say it's an evolutionary throwback to the hunting male discerning camoflagued prey.  Womens' eyes are more cone leaning; able to discern colors.  Hmm?  How to remember rods and cones and men and women?  But I digress.  Men tend to have a higher percentage of clor blindness as well.  Coincidentally, the military in the past did not necessarily view color blindness as a fault because those with it could identify camoflagued items better because no distraction of colors.

Then I must be half woman half man, I can't see animals at all when their hidden behind some bush or on a field, but my eye for matching colors is as good as a womans.  :laughing7:
My mom and girlfriend always asks me for a second opinion about what they should wear.  :tard:

Oh, and blue and green fits very well together, especially when they bleed over to eachother. Reminds me a lot of aquarelle painting and how the colors interact with eacother, green and blue works very well together there.

There's no reason in the world you can't use blue+green together, it's just a matter of how you use them (like with anything else).

I sold this in '09 and they worked just fine.

I say give Mayfly and Tonar a chance here.  These guys have created some really good work before.  This might just work out.  Just because it doesn't look stunning on that motorcycle (IMO) doesn't mean the guitar finish will fare as badly.

Nothing to be ashamed of.  I have an eye for colors as well.  My wife asks me for fashion advice all the time, and I've learned how to tell her what she doesn't want to hear.

That's because a good number of the genes responsible for color vision reside on the X chromosome, of which we men have but one.  This is also the same reason why men are never tetrachromatic, but a few women are.

That's an esoteric bit of knowledge. Are you an ophthalmologist or something?

maybe he just paid attention in college biology haha or he is colorblind and the doctor explained the fact to him (as mine did when I tested positive for colorblindness)

I'm not colorblind.  The human visual system is a subject of interest for me.

Back on topic, all I was saying was that the colors used in that style seem out of place. WHen I mentioned Jackson it was this "Eerie Dess Swirl" finish it reminded me of. It's okay enough on that, but seems a little dated to me, and I mean dated in the wrong way as far as a Tele goes.

Of course, I'm just some random dude on an internet forum throwing in his .02, but since you're in the planning stage seems fair to speak up now. I'm sure T will do a nice job with that finish whatever you do.

Don't get me started on "proper" colors for a Duc!  (My 996 is yellow BTW! But my 907 and 900ss are both red...  :laughing7:)

As for being overpriced... to each his own... I gag at spending over $10k on a Japanese 600. It's all in the perspective.

Edit; Holy Crap! I just checked MSRPs on a 2010 CBR 600 and a 2010 Ducati 848. $11,200 for the CBR, $13k for the 848.    But enough threadjacking. Ducs aren't for everyone, I get it. And nothing I'm going to say will convince anyone of anything so I'm done commenting on them here...

Back to the original subject... I dont 'care what anyone says I don't like those colors together, on a bike OR a guitar. Maybe on a bikini? Depends on who's wearing it though.

No, that's just those greedy italians... :laughing11:

Here's one in reverse order to what Mayfly is asking for.
I like the body and headstock, but what they did to that neck is just wrong...

That one is painful all the way around. And finish aside it looks like it had tons of potential, but the gold + grey + blue. Meh. If Donald Trump played in a Top 40 cover band that's what I think he'd own.

Hopefully it plays great for its owner.
