I didn't win the waffle, which is OK - I'm good to go a little hungry :)

What I did buy today, though, was one of these:

http://www.guitartrader.com/!pU2UOFAJtMaLwgpZERVV!A!/Ovation-Hybrid-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-s-1

at the local Guitar Center. It was 'used' - though I don't know how much as it was essentially flawless. It was marked for a while at $899, but got reduced to $499, so I got it for about 1/3 of what it sold for originally.

I think this thing kicks ass. I've been in the market for a dual humbucker guitar, and these SD 59s are pretty cool. And blending in the piezo is pretty awesome.

So even with no waffles, I'm pretty happy today!

Thanks man.

Here are the specs:
The Ovation VXT Hybrid is the the ideal guitar for players looking for maximum acoustic and electric versatility in one simple to operate instrument. Tonal diversity is what it's all about. Pan from sweet acoustic finger style to hard driving power chords with one simple turn of a knob. Or, combine the two for complex mixtures of everything in between.
Electrically, two Seymour Duncan '59 humbucking pickups provide the power and cover a wide range of styles - from blues, to jazz, to heavy metal crunch. Acoustically, it's got a VIP virtual microphone imaging preamp. This brand-new technology enables players to dial in a natural, studio-quality acoustic sound with unlimited headroom and no feedback hassles.
To provide acoustic realism, the VXT employs Ovation’s VIP virtual microphone imaging preamp. This brand new technology offers players access to a natural, studio-quality acoustic sound. The Fishman Power Bridge provides true acoustic attack without Piezo distortion.
The chambered Mahogany body creates a rich depth for both the electric and the acoustic modes, without a trace of feedback even at high stage volumes.
The Ovation VXT: At last an instrument that will satisfy both electric and acoustic guitarists—and is bound to create a hybrid breed of its own.

Good deal.  GC was clearing them out a few years ago for $500, so I bought both, sold one for a $300 profit, and kept the other one for a couple of years and ended up selling it for a pretty considerable profit too.  It does the acoustic sound really well, with the spruce top and all, but I wasn't a huge fan of the electric sound.

I really dig the acoustic tone, and I think it's much thicker than my other axes on the electric side - since I have all Fender-ish single coils. I'm cautiously optimistic.
