Magenta, Teal, Coral colored bobbins?

Is anyone aware of a maker doing Magenta, Teal or Coral colored bobbins or Strat pickup covers? I’ve got a couple of ideas that would make a fun guitar. I wonder if Duncan Custom Shop would do it. After all, there are no risks with a JB/Jazz, CC/APH or PG/PG combo!

Has anyone tried dyes on pickup rings? I know in the world of disc golf a lot of folks dye their discs and come up with some pretty fun art and color schemes. I would imagine if you used a white pickup ring and put it in a dye it would take to whatever color you prefer but not sure. Could probably do the same with white knobs. Might be worth an experiment if you can’t find the color desired. 🤷‍♂️

That’s a good idea.

In the same note, has anyone painted bobbins?

I spraypainted bobbins once, dead easy but if you want it to hold up to use it will need to be finished with a hard clear coat. I didn't, and it looked good for about a week or less.

Of course, bobbins in multiple colors abound on eBay/Amazon but you have to wind them yourself! I'm attempting to build a DIY sustainer driver for an upcoming Warmoth build and want a non-standard color to set it apart from the actual pickups.

Other thoughts... stickers, contact paper, extremely thin veneers, mylar, lots of options! Peruse art/craft books at your local library.

For the rings... acrylic paints (hand painted), dip/swirl, distressed metal, wood (DIY or eBay for existing products). I'm awaiting an order of herringbone purfling to wrap around the rings of a set of humbuckers.
