Low action with a non-recessed Floyd?

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone who has built a Warmoth with a Floyd can help.  I've been thinking of building a Telecaster with two humbuckers and a Floyd, and I'm concerned about being able to get low action with a non-recessed Floyd.  I used to own a Peavey Wolfgang that sounded great, but never played very well due to the high action.  The Floyd couldn't be lowered enough to get anything close to low action, and the only thing I could do to make it playable was to shim the neck.  I just don't like the idea of building a high-end custom guitar and then sticking a piece of scrap wood in the neck pocket to shim the neck.  I could always go with a recessed route, but I don't like floating trems and would prefer to have it mounted against the body.  For those of you who have built a Warmoth with a non-recessed Floyd, did you have to shim the neck to get low action or was the angled neck pocket enough to make it work properly?  I'd be using the largest fret size, which should help, but I thought I'd better seek out some opinions before ordering.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

When yo uorder the body, have them route the correct angle into the neck pocket.  There is a $10 charge fo this but it eliminates the need for shims.

riverbluff is correct, the sales rep should tell you that the neck pocket needs to be cut at a 2 deg angle for the proper set up of a non-recessed Floyd. But just in case they don't you need to ask for it to be cut.  The angled neck pocket is just perfect, no need for shim. Here's one of my 2 tele's with non-recesseed Floyds...And welcome to the "Madness"...

What is your idea of low action? talk in measures...

Once I've set the truss rod, I set the action as low as I can get it without buzz.  Once I find that point, I will raise it by a very small amount.

Honestly, I don't know.  I don't have my guitar with me at the moment to measure, and I usually go by feel rather than measurements.

Them I think you would have to accept that it goes low action fine, as there is no way to we think how low you're talking... But keep in mind that ours "low action" can be high to you... Anyway, I think Warmoth will give you a neck with you'll be able to have a very low action after a professional fret job (warmoth don't do nivelling)... If you cannot get the low you want after this, you might understand that are limits to how low you can get and you've gone over it...
