This was waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday. And of course we had company all night so I didn't get to welcome it home properly, but I still managed to make a little time for it.

Now that I've held it in my hands, I love it that much more. And I can say for sure that there's no way I can put a scratchplate on it. Now back to saving up for the rest of the parts...

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.....  :icon_thumright:

That's exactly what I was going to write.  Only with about fifty more E's.  Nice Tele, Damon.  Congrats.

I don't know what it is about them, but I've always loved teles. This is making me consider building one. I just have to get my current build done first, being broke made me put it on a halt for a while.

Yeah.... They sure are.

And apparently I need a better quality camera.... She's not that fuzzy normally, thank God.

Beautiful neck, but one big problem. It's a tele headstock. Yeah, I know this is a tele body and I'll always think of it as a tele, but I can't stand the tele headstock. On top of that, I want it obvious to those who know at least a little about guitars that this isn't a Fender, since it isn't. So I'm gonna go for the Warhead headstock, maybe with the RobR mod, maybe not. I'm still debating between one-piece maple (probably flame) and something raw like canary. Unfortunately I still have a few months to decide since we have some more pressing needs to attend to before I can finish the project. My wife really surprised me by letting me buy this now, but my damned sense of responsibility is making me stick to the family budget otherwise. I just don't think my daughter should have to live on Ramen until she's in college like a normal person.

I love telecasters and that thing is pretty!  It is a shame you don't like the tele headstock.  It is one of my favorites.  I actually think the strat headstock is a bit ugly myself.

And the neck got here on Friday, but I didn't have time to take pics until tonight. My daughter insisted on being my neck model and I couldn't think of a good reason to say no, so .....

Neck specs:

Pau ferro on canary, fat back, SS6100 frets, 12" radius

I have an Earvana drop-in nut I'll be installing (wanted to try one out, seemed like an opportune time). The remaining few parts are scheduled for delivery on Tuesday and everything I already have is assembled, so hopefully I'll have a new guitar to show off on Tuesday night.

Great looking match up with the body & neck  :icon_thumright: Looking great
Ho Hum .... reminds me of my youngest daughter (now 19)  ..... same colour hair  :icon_thumright:

1st pic, really looks like she's into a heavy riff  :toothy10:
2nd has the bar chords happening  :icon_thumright:

I reckon she'll be claiming this guitar, as it blends in perfectly with her hair  :icon_biggrin:

Great little model you have there, she held it to the camera at the perfect angle.
Good work little one  :blob7:

Just wondering, what is the RobR mod on the Warhead?

It's a reshape of the headstock RobR had done some time back. I think it starts with a Warhead, then gets reshaped a bit to make it somewhat Tele-like without making it ugly...

You can read more about it in his Vintage-ish Esquire build thread.
