Looking for advice r.e. EMG 81TW pickup

Hello, all,

I'm looking at building a solid-body, flat-top Soloist 12-string with wood-mount humbuckers.  My plan is to use an EMG 89R in the neck position, and an EMG 81TW in the bridge position.  My concern is that the extra height of the 81TW will be too much with the standard 0.75" pickup routing depth.  I'm wondering if anyone here has installed one of these pickups in a Warmoth body before, and whether or not additional routing for depth was required.

It’s not too high, but you’ll have to enlarge the wiring channels for each pickup. The dual mode cables are much larger than standard EMG cables and need another 16th or so to not have to be forced in, at least on my soloist body. The 89’s fit no problem with room to spare, but the cables wouldn’t really fit without enlarging the wiring holes.

Excellent, thank you for the reply.  I've pulled the trigger on my parts; I'll post a follow-up in the appropriate board when I manage to get everything assembled!
