pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top?

As cool as that is, and it is very cool, perhaps the stealth cool feature that trumps it is the location of the index hole, where it'd be covered up by a bridge. I've seen guitars with no bridge pickup, but I've never seen one without a bridge.

Well, that's his index hole.

Warmoth's is typically in the bridge pickup route along with the neck pocket.

I think having the standard Warmoth Rear Route Control cavity setup with standard jack options would be great.  While I think the deep drilled flush mount is cool, the jacks (hardware) that are used are not always the best quality, so I think the tried and true options are the still the best.

Also, offering that with limited bridge options would also simplify production manufacturing.  No recessed Floyds & such, just tunomatics (either standard or recessed/string through, stop tailpieces, hardtails, Bigsby & mayyyyybe a Wilky trem at the most.

Offer it in a flat top, or 3/4" carved tops  (Unique Choice).  That's where the options are so far more than what you would find elsewhere on the market.

Can you imagine the asthetic options for a 335-ish guitar like that?!?

I think this is a cash-cow worth feeding the good corn.

I think Adams aluma-bridge would look better than the tele.. :dontknow:

How many threads have there been asking for a double cutaway version of the L5S, an LPS with f holes, a Starcaster, ANYTHING that looks kind of like a 335?  This has got to be the most requested addition to their lineup.  Do it, Warmoth!  Do it!

Well unless you just have to have the HUUUUUUUUUUUge body, a double cut LP I'd imagine could be ordered like that... :dontknow:

I dunno now. I recognize, and have defended the costs of the carved top bodies in the past. But justified or not, that's still a wad of cash for something that's a facsimilie of a real semi-hollow. And wasteful of a big chunk of exotic wood to route out rather than bend up a body like that. Some things do not exist, not because they're impossible or nobody wants them, but simply because they're not economically feasible. NASA proved almost 50 years ago that it was possible to go to the moon. But it will never be like catching a taxi or ordering a pizza.

In the end, I can't justify spending $5-600 on an unfinished body. And with finish & options a number of bodies I've done in the builder are $1k+.

So I'm withdrawing my support and oohs and ahs. If I want a hollowbody archtop, I'll either buy an agile or a used epi or something. If I get the bug for something really out there I'll just have to make it myself.

I'm feeling some arm twisting going on.....

Rest assured, these threads do get read and remembered.  Let's see what the new year brings.

Ever since I discovered Warmoth I've wanted to do a 335. Full size, only no carved top. Can't really dig carved tops. Flat top Bigsby and a Mastery Bridge for me! If you guys did this I would do so many wonderful, terrible, unspeakable things to your websites Body Builder/order forms. So many things.... I should stop talking about it before I get arrested.

I would definitely like to see this with a flat top/carved top choice at a pretty good price point. I could see myself buying one and getting a Tonar Lake Placid Blue on it.... Mmmmmm......

Well, this is how Rickenbacker has been doing it's "hollow body" guitars since the 50's - routing out a big chunk of maple.  The top and the sides are one piece, and the back is glued on after attaching the neck - which is a really deep tenon design on the "hollow" ones.

Ricks are not cheap, but they're not super expensive either.  I think there are some economies here that would make it worth it.

Still waiting on that starcaster.  :headbang1:

I vow that if it is offered, it will be within my next two builds.  Probably the next one... which granted, probably won't be happening any time soon, but will happen some day.
