Hi,
I just got these Zexcoil pups and I'm really in love with them, is a set called Signature set.
I installed in my S-S-S Tele with tremolo, not even shielding them to see how they sound and think have to share this, take a pick at http://zexcoil.com/buckers.html
At some point I have to reinstall them the way they deserve, but can't put them down.

Ugly, fugly- sorry, don't care for the rust, I don't care how good they sound

Looks like someone tryin to start a fad, pups are over rated, they actually perfected them back in the 50's

So everyone using a JB is using an objectively worse pickup than an original PAF, because that was "perfected" in the 50s, and the JB is only 30-ish years old.

Forgive me if I ignore that opinion.

Thanks ...... I asked about these some time ago.

Don’t get me wrong but I’m not looking for a PAF sound is just looking for sound/tone, I don’t disqualify a pickup for it appearance, I’ll do with a guitar.  I respect people opinions and people that don’t want or can’t try new things, I just wanted to bring something that it’s really new, genuine and uses new technology compared with what it’s in the market place.

Here the story: almost every year I go to the Amp-SHOW in NJ where you can experience yourself mostly amps but also you find guitars, pedals, loudspeakers, cables and pickups.
I entered this room (Zexcoil) and there was a lot of different guitars to try, Strats, Teles and 2 o 3 Les Pauls, with different amplifiers, so I give it a try and was able to experience the same pickup in different guitars, and decided to get the set I liked and they sound different than any other pickup I have.
I been buying pickups from the 70’s, here the list of what I have today ♫.

Joe Barden S-type, T-Type
Bill Lawrence L220, L-550, L560, L45, L90
Adder Paisley
PRS Dragon II
Duncan 3+3 Rod Magnet, arriving soon
Novak Wide Range
WCR Good-wood
Manlius Fat Diane, Hot Rod
Fender vintage Noiseless, Texas Special

Ouch!

That's not rust. We use a range of materials in our pickups to achieve different tones and some of them look different. We epoxy pot the covers on so they are actually quite well protected from rust. In that pic you're looking through a thin layer of epoxy at the top of the pole piece.

I agree, some pickups are over rated...not Zexcoils, though!

The look is the look, and in this case form follows function. The unique, patented design yields the most efficient hum canceling performance available, enabling a full spectrum of noise-free, wide open, glorious tones.

Hi Scott, welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your design and patent. It's an interesting way to address the issue of hum. I haven't had the opportunity to sample those pickups but I look forward to coming across them some day. I look forward to seeing your ideas in the future. :icon_thumright:
