Long-term prospects for an unfinished roasted maple neck

I just pulled the trigger on a roasted maple neck/roasted maple board custom build order. A Warmoth Pro boatneck that will get the burnishing treatment! I figured if I never had a maple fretboard before because I didn't like how they are usually finished and had the opportunity to go raw with maple I should do it. Never had maple on the front before so this should be fun. And of course I am aways off from a finished guitar but if my biggest struggle between now and then will be the right pickguard life isn't so difficult this time around. Got an EVH Frankenstein pickup that has been collecting dust never used so this will go in and maybe Bill Lawrence noise free singles. Wilkinson bridge.
