Hey guys on a sloist body do I need to run a long shaft pot or will a short shaft work? The short shaft will just barely make it through the body. Not sure if I would have enough to get the knob on there. Not sure though as I broke the shaft on the pot. So now I have to wait for a relacement to try it out, but I think I may end up needing  a long shaft. Not really crazy about using a long shaft though.

Read it through about 3 times and at one point you talk about sanding around the hole to get the short shaft to poke through yet in the same sentence you mention dpdt pots and solderless sockets. I was looking for a simple yes or no if short shaft pots are long enough to go through a soloist body. Can't see why you would add a bunch of info about EMG solderless pots on carved top tele bodies. Why not just start a new thread with your findings?

I'm not trying to be an ass here, but if you posted a question asking if the solderless EMG pot would fit in your CT Tele body and I replied with a long post about how a short shaft regular pot isn't long enough to go through my soloist body I am sure you would wonder why I would post that as well.

you should be able to use either one. the short ones might need thinning of the mounting points. and the long post may need a dual nut setup that is more prone to coming loose.

I was wondering the same thing

maybe we should check to see if he took his meds today........ :sign13:
