If I want a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge, will locking tuners keep it in tune just as well as a locking nut? I want a different kind of nut and so I'm looking at locking tuners.

Thanks.

if your using a non locking nut you will be creating an area where it is still possible for the strings to bind up, even if you do have locked tuners.

If you wanna dive bomb, not really. If you wanna dive bomb and stay in tune, yes. If you wanna dive so far as to the point where the strings are hanging an inch lower then where they are supposed to, yes.

A correctly fitted locking nut is better at keeping your guitar in tune than locking tuners.
Also, with a normal nut, the string can come out of the slots with deep dive bombing...
(It helps to have a taller than usual nut, but with the slots cut to normal action over the first fret.)

I would go with the locking nut  :headbang1:

Poo, poo, I have a kahler on the mini-v with steinberger gearless tuners, I divebomb quite a bit and it never goes out of tune. please note graphite nut..
