Lightweight wood

How do you request a lightweight wood when ordering a Custom Body?
And second, how do you request they install Ferules on the body for you?

I (think) if you give them a call you can request extra light wood, possibly at a small up-charge.

As for ferrule installation, I don't think Warmoth will install any hardware other than bridge studs. Are you talking about string ferrules? If so all you need to do is tap them in with a rubber mallet.

Thanks for the reply. I sent them an email and haven't heard back about the lightweight wood request. And yes, string Ferrules for the back of the body. I just tried doing that once and got them crooked. So, I would prefer they do it. I will try calling them this week.

For reference you can also add notes when placing an order to cover things that might not be in the builder or showcase options. They will get back to you and confirm if it is possible or not. Of course if you want to find something out ahead of time, mailing or calling during the week is the way to go.

An update.
I called Warmoth and here's the story on Special Orders.
If you want 'Llightweight' body wood, you just have to specify Lightweight in the Notes at the end of the order form. They charge $40 extra for lightweight wood. Not too bad.

Also, if you want the do additional work, they will do that too, you just have to ask the cost. I wanted them to install my String Ferrules (I messed it up myself the last time) so, I asked and they will do a nice clean, Pro job for $20. Reasonable considering I screwed it and damaged my last body!
