I agree about that. seems the L6s would be more easily made as it is a neck issue and binding issue, features on the L5s are high dollar such as the inlays, binding and fingerboard shape, these were not on the L6s.
HOWEVER
No one JONES over a L6s, they are like many models, forgotten or should be.
So I look at the L5s body and go.....................".WOW, I could do that right", then I think," Now where would I get a neck made for that, or who can I send that to and get the correct binding?" and all dreams go out the window.
I think I will Just dream about an original D Angelico New Yorker instead.
Gibson was on a serious down hill slide when they offered the L6s, they were trying to offer a cheap L5S and excite sales, kinda like the slide they are on now and offer 90% of the LP line as cheap wanna be's. I think they have almost destroyed their reputation this time,
