Was in a studio a few years ago and somebody brought in a nice Korina Gibson Flying V. I played it for that day and it was pretty much love at first contact. I've been wanting to get a Korina guitar since then but don't want to pay the $$$ those Gibson are listing for.

I thought of making a Warmoth one. I was just wondering if I am crazy for wanting to sandwich it with a maple neck (Ebony or Rosewood fingerboard). I know going Korina on the neck or Wenge seems more logical but have to stay within budget for this guitar since I don't know how nice the end product would be. Thoughts? What do you recommend?

Thanks a ton. You guys/pals rock!

I recommend don't overthink it, get a maple neck and if you like ebony better than rosewood or vice versa do that.

Then have fun with what you build and play  :icon_thumright:

Get a raw neck. It's worth it.
+1

I got a roasted maple neck and it cost less than the equivalent standard maple with a finish.
