Just pulled the trigger...

Just placed my order for my Spalted Maple Tele body. 

I tried to get a pic of the top, but they pulled it from the web site really quick!  So just imagine the unique top spalted that is no longer there (#37)!

Goi it on an alder body, rear routed with standard tele controls.  Black binding with a clear finish. 

Planning on going with black hardware (to match the binding) and Rio Grande pickups, just not sure what set to go with yet.

Still undesided on a neck.  Thinking either Padouk or Canary.   Thoughts.... on pickup and neck?

Now the wait....tick...tick...tick...

I know which top you got.  I almost got that one for my soloist, but changed my mind last minute.  That is a killer top and will look awesome on a tele body.

Ewwwwwwwh, sounds tasty Bill that's a hard choice tho on the neck...Those are kinda wierd colors to use with a spalt. maybe a all wenge neck.. :dontknow:

Pau Fero looks and feels absolutely amazing in my opinion.

I think he was referring to the spalted top as "the one", not the neck. I posted that as an option to fit with the spalt.... :laughing11:

Got to say... That really look great.  Neck width is the only thing that would make me pass on it. I hae nece had a 1 and 5/8 nut width neck before.  How noticable is the difference, other then the obvious 1/16?

Not much at all, I have several with the 1 11/16 nut and a 1 5/8 width and your not even gonna notice.  Here's the same set up with an all canary neck.......I think this might work too.... :dontknow:

Amazing top! I would say that a rosewood/pau ferro looks better to me than the canary... but it's personal taste, of course!
