Ok. Time to make us the most crazy rig you can (you must use at least 6 different amps with different effects on each one).

GO.

A couple of my friends and I actually made up a few rigs and used a three banger to play them in stereo with the amps in different rooms of the house. Ever heard three vibe effects on three amps in Tri-Stereo, it can sound awesome!

Other than running stereo rigs and a bunch of effects at once I haven't done allot of experimentation. Does anyone make a 6 banger box. It would be cool to run one guitar into 6 rigs at once.

They are not cheap, but Radial makes a nice one.  The JD7.

Devin Townsend uses one to run his rig.

Well, I trust you have a good Insurance policy.

Speaking of "good" insurance policies...

Has anybody ever specifically asked how their guitars would be valued in the event of a loss from fire/theft/assholiness? Assuming you have a policy, I mean.

Reason I ask is a friend of mine lost a number of guitars some years back to theft, and his insurance company actually depreciated them as if they were cars or something, saying that things like his 20 year old Flying V was only worth $45 or some ridiculous number like that. For losing 10 or 12 instruments, I think they only paid off about $1800, which wouldn't even replace his Les Paul, let alone the rest of the collection. Outside of sentimental value, since some of them weren't even replaceable because they were unique or out of production, it was a real kick in the balls.

Yes you can have them appraised by three different sources and documet everything. You can also take detailed pictures and have the whole mob in my case evaluated by the insurance company.

Ok, thanks. I've got to move here pretty soon, and I'm probably going to want to get my own insurance policy at the next place.

Can I have your Klon?? Lol

LOL

I bought my Klon in Albuquerque for around $200 in 2002-03. It's serial number is 758 I think. They were popular then but not like they are now. I probably use the Klon more than every other pedal i have.

Wish I could find some affordable clone that I can trust is good, love the sound of those things

Somebody was selling a Klon nockoff on the web. I don't remember who it was but they were getting good reviews and were relitively inexpensive.

Relative to what? Guitar special effects are amongst the biggest ripoffs in the business. Anyone can buy PC motherboards like this...

...for roughly $75. Open up any SFX pedal you own and compare. They're clearly $3 boxes that they sell for anywhere between $150 and $500. Some companies are starting to defy that business model, but they're getting a lot of flack for it. I expect things to improve for players even more as time goes on. You can only rip people off for so long before they wise up.

I am going to buy a kit, reverse the layout and have boards made. The guy is charging way too much for the kit. $23.00 for Shipping and Handling!!! I can likely build and sell them for about $125.00 each. You really don't understand the economics behind this industry. Yes they are overpriced in some cases. However, there is alot more to it than just $75 worth of parts. I keep $100's of dollars worth of tubes and parts in stock. Solder, wire, tools wear out. My time, shipping  and reasonable packing costs. A well built hand made effect pedal is worth much more than the chinese outsourced junk alot of manufactureres pass off as boutique. Hell Electro Harmonix has been selling cheap russian then chineese crap for years (now likely Sri Lanka, or tiwan), and people are still lining up to buy it!

Have youi checked buildyourownclone.com?

DOnt you mean buildyourownklon?
Didn't know about that one thanks for the idea. I did mean build your own clone but the klon site works better. I think I may breadboard this thing soon just to get an idea of the cost to make. Could be a nice lowcost pedal to sell with my others.

Ha.  Thats classic....  I was just joking.  A play on words, Clone / Klon.
I had no idea there was an actual BYOKlon website  :laughing11:

There is and the guy wants $200.0 for a "custom" built pedal. Amazing!
