I just ordered a lefty maple/maple strat neck from the showcase, my first showcase purchase ever. I didn't want anything too fancy or flamey, and the lefty options are pretty limited anyway, but i think the one i picked out does have some nice figure:
It's a Vintage Modern w/ Standard Thin contour, 9.5" radius, and i'm having them put 6150 frets on it and ream the tuner holes for Gotoh SG38's.
This will be my third Warmoth neck and first w/ a Standard Thin contour. I generally prefer a little bit more neck beef, but in this case i think it will be fine as it will be a little thicker than the stock neck i am replacing.
Planning on finishing it myself, i'll give it a (hopefully) tasteful amount of amber tint before a nice nitro clear coat.
Then, it will go on my Daphne Blue Strat in this blurry picture:
I really like this guitar (except i've never cared for the neck). It has a Lollar Special in the Bridge pos. and Lollar Vintage Blackface's in the Mid & Neck. It's also got a Callaham bridge. It was my first ever refin attempt. I painted over the black original finish (after sanding off the clear coat). It was a learning process (i.e. i didn't do a very good job) and i ended up sanding through a lot on the edges, exposing the black underneath. I actually ended up loving that look though, and this guitar became my first ever "relic attempt". I also relic'd the knobs and p'up covers (intentionally in this case :laughing7
using some ReRanch amber tint, a coffee/tea/cigarette concoction, and some good ol' fashioned dirt. I'm really happy with how they turned out, and overall i love the look/tone of this guitar. Once i get this all maple neck on there, it should be unstoppable.
