Just arrived.............

Already learned you gotta haul ass and not dilly dally about. I probably will do 5 more testers to get my footing. This could be very cool, or a total disaster.

Uh, ya so far not getting results that I would like to see. I was hoping to get a subtle pattern, but everything looks like the usual bowling ball thing. I may switch to something else to compliment the black sparkle finish instead.

Nothing wrong with bowling ball patterns, if they are a little sparkly. I salute your bravery with this finishing method.

I liked the scrap, maybe if there was a way to just get a little less coverage from the dip it could really look like a nebula over a starry background.

My other thought was what about some thin metal foil patterns. I’ve used this stuff called Bare-Metal for scale modeling that is great for adding shiny bits. Some mock silver engraving or filigree type stuff floating over a sparkly field could be cool.

I was hoping for sort of selective coverage instead of a cover up of everything. My thinking cap is on, though old Spud's brain ain't too gude.

Final swirl update. I dipped the guitar body. The bottom half was pretty cool. The top half was absolute cloudy crap. I looked at it for 5 min and was in shock and unhappy. Wasn't time for photo, I grabbed the mineral spirits and hauled ass and wiped it all off. I had let the sparkle and clear coats cure so luckily I am just back to black sparkle again no damage. I went back and looked and dumb Spud purchased "Marble Magic Easy Marble" brand paint instead of " Magic Marble " brand paint. I am now over it and am going another direction when I figure it out. This brand paint might be ok for small stuff, but beware for anything like a guitar body. Lesson learned. Good grief!!

Thanks for looking and your suggestions all.

Marble finishes are dumb!
