Joe Walsh auction - lots of Warmoth!

Wow.....Joe Walsh is auctioning off pretty much all his gear! I knew he was a gear hound, but the amount of stuff is truly mind-boggling.

He's been a Warmoth customer over the years, so I went through the auction and found a fair amount of Warmoth! Might be neat to have one or two “Joe Walsh owned” Warmoth pieces. Prices seem reasonable for celebrity-owned gear. Here are a few links:

Whew! Just finishing scrolling to the bottom of that website. It will be interesting to see the sold prices on alot of this stuff. Luckily all of my Warmoth builds have insulated me from placing a bid.

Interesting choice to spec a vintage Tele replacement body for that first Esquire but exclude the neck rout. Defeats the point of the wiring channel rout and also is very much non vintage

Who flipped the neck pickup around on the Candy red Strat? It was clearly the other way round in the photos.

Im actually pretty sure the neck isnt. The headstock shape is not the Warmoth version of a tele.

Warmoth should put in a bid for one or two of these, and if you win hang them up in the foyer with a plaque. (I've never been to the Mothership, but having one of these would be cool, though I don't know if you have a foyer. If you don't win no harm, as it looks like at least some of the proceeds goes to charity. Worth a flyer? (For the non-golfers, flyer means taking a golf shot that will probably not work, but might work, and seeing what happens))

LOL. His gear exploits are pretty legendary, and he seems like sort of a - how you say - free spirit when it comes to bookkeeping. I bet that person hated tax season.

OTOH, the shape of the heel as it transitions to the neck looks very Warmoth. A "C" shape, rather than the "V" that most mfgrs use.

The auctioneers were pretty thorough about mentioning Warmoth by name wherever it applied, so maybe it's not, but you don't see that C shape very often IME.

It also has a squared off fretboard end, which you don't see often....even on a Warmoth. If it were from us that would indicate a Gibson-Scale conversion neck, but the auction says it's 25.5" scale, so who knows?
