I know that there was already a post about Jeff Healy's passing, but has anyone else noticed that neither Guitar World nor Guitar Player websites even had one sentence about it!  Unreal!!

But of course, the release of Chuck Schuldiner's BC Rich pick axe is front page news!  I've already got my order in!  $4,500 - it's a steal at twice the price!!

Thanks for tuning in for my rant of the day!  :headbang1:

cheers!

It is sad that a guy with jeff's tallents goes unrecognizable, and some crappy BC Rich/Jackson Warrior  knock-off could get such acclaim..... :confused4:

Comparing men, especially dead men, is not good. Same counts for comparing different kinds of music. If you don't like Chuck or Death or death metal keep it for yourself. Chuck was a pioneer and an honest, down to earth guy. I'm not the biggest fan of his music but I won't write comments "grunt like a pig" for him. He has nothing to do with BC Rich making money out of his name.

Jeff Healey was a gifted guitarist/composer/lyricist. I'm a fan of his music from the first record. I don't care about guitar magazines anymore, the internet covers my needs. Guitar magazines are like any other magazine, they do what they have to do to sell more copies.

In reference to Guitar World...  They took a while to print a tribute magazine to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.  It'll probably happen, but I think they have things lined up months in advance, so just give it time.

My point is...why is the release of that guitar news?  and why is the passing of an amazing musician not? :icon_scratch:

If it's any consolation, Chuck Schuldiner's death in 2001 didn't get the attention it deserved, either. Like him or not, his music influenced a lot of bands.

So the release of his guitar gets better media coverage than his actual passing?  That's my point exactly!
